My artist friend, Silvio Jimenez, invited me to participate in a spring art show along with six other artists. He wanted all new work with a spring theme. He suggested flowers, but I wanted to do a peacock, however I added flowers to keep with a spring theme.  As I was painting the background, I wasn’t sure what to do, so I just began painting different colors swirling around.  It reminded me of a rainbow, although it wasn’t.  I added some iridescent paints to give it a little glimmer here and there.

I often don’t see the spiritual connection until the painting is completed, especially when the subject matter is not spiritually obvious. Peacocks are so colorful. The New Testament was written in Greek. There is one word in the New Testament that means multitudinous expressions (facets) or multicolored. The Greek word for manifold means multicolored! This word is only found in Ephesians 3:10.

“To the intent that now unto the principalities and powers in heavenly [places] might be known by the church the manifold wisdom of God.”  Ephesians. 3:10 ASV

As an artist, when I notice art in the scriptures, that excites me! God is the ultimate artist and creator!  God’s wisdom is multicolored! His wisdom is so vast and multi-faceted, and he wants us to know it and HIM.

“If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” James 1:5 KJV
